Beaches on Samos
enjoy the beautiful beaches

Potami: It is a long pebble beach with clean waters on Samos Islands` northeast coast. The beach is accessible by car or by foot from Karlovassi town. Potami consists of pebbles. When visiting Potami Beach make sure to add a walk by the river up to the famous waterfalls in Island. The walk, roughly 2 km, will take you through a lovely forest and eventually ends at a small lake where you can swim, the falls are then straight ahead.

Klima: Klima Beach is situated on the south - eastern part of the island, on the way to Kerveli, nearby Possidonio. The beach is like a hidden place far from popular sites and away from crowd. After a 20 minute drive from Samos town, a beautiful blue-green colored, calm water sea is waiting for you to relax your body and mind. The shore and the shallow is pebbled, but as you make a few steps it becomes sandy. Enjoy swimming right across the Turkish coast, and try the delicious Greek tastes at the restaurant by the beach.

Psili Ammos: At the south of Samos town, if you follow the road to Kerveli, you will see the sign to Psili Ammos. It is about 9 km from Samos town and takes about a 15 minute drive to reach the beach. It is just one mile across the coast of Turkey. Psili Ammos means “fine sand” and it is a sandy beach and it is probably the name that makes it the most popular beach at the Samos Island. As most of the beaches are pebbled in the Island, sandy shore and the shallow calm sea makes Psili Ammos an ideal place for families with children.

Kerveli: It is a very quit and relaxed beach located on the east coast of Samos Town, perfect if you want to spend a day at the Kerveli beach without being disturbed. The beaches consist of pebbles and stones, there are few taverns next to the beach offering a free shower for guests. Access to the beach is really simple as you drive all the way down to Kerveli beach.

Posseidonio: It is located 8 km southeast of the main town on Samos (Vathi). Possidonion is a small quiet beach with clear waters and a couple of fish taverns nearby. Mykali: It is located 10 km south of the main town on Samos (Vathi) . Mykali is a white pebble beach with emerald colored waters. It is an undeveloped area.

Aghia Markela: It is located 4 km from the main town on Samos (Vathi) .

Roditses: Is a small beach with pebbles. It is half a km away from the main town on Samos (Vathi) . It is located at the northeastern side.

Malagari: It is 2 km from Samos Town.It has a sandy beach with a somewhat rough sea. Near there are the plant and installations of winery.Kotsikas: It is a small beach.

Mourtia: It is a small beach with pebbles. It is located to the northeast and is 6 km away from Samos Town.

Megalo Seitani: It is situated on the mountainous northwest coast of Samos Island. There are no roads to this part of the island, so the only way to reach the beach is on foot. You never regret the walk, the views along the path are excellent and the beach is wonderful. One of the best beaches on Samos Island. Megalo Seitani is not an official nudist beach, but it's more than suited for nudism. It consists of sand - small pebbles, there are no facilities. Bring all water, suntan lotion whatever you need.

Mikro Seitani: The beach in itself is not worth the walk, it's a nice beach to stop at for swimming on the way to Megalo Seitani Beach. It is a small secluded beach situated on the mountainous northwest coast of Samos Island. There are no roads on this part of the island, so the only way to reach the beach is on foot. The beach consists of pebbles and is surrounded by rocks.

Beach of Ormos and Velanidia: They are sited to the east of Marathokompos Town.

Karlovassi: It consists of sand and pebbles. This beach is a small beach next to the road from Karlovassi town down to the harbour and close to the hotels in here. There is a small tavern by the beach and sun beds - umbrellas are available always.

Tsambou and Vlendza: It is located just outside of Avlakia. A nice beach with crystal clear water. Parking is down by the beach which give you easy access to here if you arrive by your car. It consists of pebbles; sun beds and umbrellas are available always, small tavern.

Tsamadou: It is located just outside of Kokkari Town in a beautiful bay. You reach here via a rather steep path down from the main road, the path keeps getting better but it's quite a drop down from the road to here. There is a small kiosk on the Tsamadou beach as well as taverns nearby, sun beds and umbrellas are available for hire and there are 2 sweet water showers near the kiosk. Although there is a kiosk at the beach you should make sure to bring all suntan lotion and whatever you need for your stay since the nearest shops are in Kokkari town. Tsamodou beach consists mainly of pebbles and have in parts a very steep bottom. You should expect some waves in windy days, the water is crystal clear and suited for snorkeling. This is the only official nudist beach on Samos Island, and one of the most famous in Greece, with one part of the beach set aside as a nudist beach. This beautiful beach is well worth to visit even for a non nudist.

Lemonakia: It is 12 km from Samos. Here come many bathers. The sea bottom is strewn with pebbles but otherwise very clear waters. There is a small tavern at the beach .

Kokkari: The big beach named as The Long beach is situated on the waterfront in Kokkari town. There are taverns right on the beach and plenty nearby, Kokkari Beach is very popular with windsurfers due to regular strong northern winds. It consists of pebbles. Kokkari is unsheltered from the northern winds resulting in nice waves when the wind picks up.

Gangou: It is located about 1 km from the centre of Samos Town. The water is crystal clear, the beach has been awarded with the blue flag. There is bar and restaurant nearby, sun beds and umbrellas are available for hire. The beach is mainly gravel.

Pythagorion: It is 15 km from Samos. It is located within the village, exactly at the left side of the harbour. Pythagorion is a small beach and has a bar to serve soft drinks and also known as Remataki beach. It's a nice sandy beach, sheltered and shallow, ideal for children. Sun beds and parasols are available as well as showers. The bay is a very popular anchoring site for visiting sailboats. Make sure you do not miss the statue of Pythagoras on the pier next to the beach. Beer lovers should take the opportunity to sample some of the imported beers at Rosseto's, including Guinness on tap.

Potokaki: It is a very large beach with pebbles and sand located on southern Samos near the airport and all hotels in Pythagorio. You should expect to see 1 or 2 airplanes take off right over your head. it's not frequent enough to be disturbing. There are various locations where umbrellas and sun beds are available along the beach and you will find plenty of taverns right next to the beach. Potokaki beach is awarded with the blue flag.

Ireon: It is located 21 km from Samos. A small beach with pebbles. It has restaurants, cafeterias, hotels.

Tsopela: A beach to dream about. Excursions to this place with caiques are organized from Pythagorion.

Karbovolo and Glicoriza: Is a small beach just before Pythagorion.

Papa beach: It is situated a few hundred meters outside Ireon and is a definitely wonderful and relaxed place. There is a nice tavern near the beach and you are able to drive almost all the way up to the beach. There are sun beds and parasols available as well as showers and a small changing room. You will find a 2nd beach to the left of the main beach, access to the sea is little bit more difficult at this beach. Both beaches consist of pebbles and stones, wearing some sort of bathing shoes is recommended especially if you opt for the 2nd beach.

Balos: It is a long and nice beach with pebbles and sand located in western Samos. It's a beautiful beach to make a lunch stop at during an island tour, enjoy your time at the beach and follow up with a Greek snack at one of the small taverns. The beach is usually very quite and ideal for a peaceful rest.

Votsalakia: It is a very large beach with pebbles and sand located on southern Samos. It consists of sand and pebbles. There are various locations where umbrellas and sun beds are available along the Votsalakia beach and you will find plenty of taverns close to the beach.

Limnionas: It is located west of Votsalakia at the base of mount Kerketes. It consists of pebbles and sand, sun beds and umbrellas are available for rent. There are a couple of small taverns and hotels upon this beach.

Samiopoula: It is a small island near the south coast of Samos. It can be visited by boat from Pythagorion daily, the voyage from Pythagorio to Samiopoula takes about 1 hour with a small boat. The beach on Samiopoula is one of the best beaches you will find on Samos Island, fine sand and crystal clear water. Tour operators has included a stop at Samiopoua Beach on their boat trips, so it's not quite as idyllic as it could be. There is a small tavern on the island but make sure to bring water, food and all suntan lotion etc you need. It consists of very fine sand, free umbrellas are available on the beach but no sunbeds Avlakia: It is 12km from Samos. Clean beach with clear, cool waters. It has a restaurant, tavern and hotel.

Aspres: A beautiful quiet beach located in the area of Marathokampos, on the road that leads to Kallithea. Aspres is one of the nudist beaches on Samos.
